I live in
Wincanton. At the moment I have a flat at the cheap end of town, but am looking for
either a house with character, or building land to have a house built to my own design.
, and single. I can often be found in either The Bear Inn or The Nog Inn.
I spent most of my childhood living in a small village in Cheshire The secondary school I went to was in Northwich. I did a degree in Electronic Engineering at UCNW Bangor before moving to the South of England to work. I have lived on or near the South coast ever since.
My first proper job was with Plessey Avionics at Havant. I then moved to Marconi Secure Radio at Portsmouth, but only briefly, before moving to Plessey Military Communications at South Leigh (just outside Havant). I was just in time for Plessey to be carved up and sold to GEC and Siemens. South Leigh went to Siemens and they shut the place down, I was given relocation to Christchurch, Dorset. After many years serving the UK military equipment industry I decided I was no longer comfortable with the things I was working on, and a change was due, so moved I to GCD. In march 2001 I changed job yet again, this time to Securicor Wireless Technology, who used to be called Linear Modulation Technology. Now they are called Software Radio Technology (SRT). At the end of March 2007 I left SRT to join the Medical group of Zarlink. A much more worthwhile set of products to work on.
I'm a trustee and member of the booking committee of The David Hall Arts Centre at South Petherton. The DHAC puts on a variety of musical performances, plays, and films. It is mainly run by volunteer staff and is a friendly place.
I have a MySpace page but don't expect much there. The most up-to-date content is here.
